Periodontal treatment: maintaining the condition of your teeth
Healthy gums are very important for ensuring healthy teeth.
Inflammation of the gums or the tissue that holds the teeth in place - so-called periodontitis - can damage your ability to bite and even lead to tooth loss. To make sure this doesn't happen, we start treatment promptly to stop the process and maintain your long-term dental health.
Our periodontal treatments include:
Subgingival debridement (deep scaling). This is usually carried out under local anaesthesia. A full chart of your gum health is taken at 6 points around each tooth to find out eactly where
treatment is needed.
In more severe cases we may discuss referral for further treatment which may include:
- Gum Grafting
- Bone Grafting
- Ridge Preservation
